Life is short. Love those around you. Always have those last words spoken, cause you never know when tomorrow isn't going to come.
This past week, I've had the unfortunate event of losing a step parent. One who has been in my life for 32 years. I've received that early morning phone call informing me of the news, and hearing the heart wrenching sobs of my mother telling me she needs me now. I've had to watch a parent fall apart. I've had to watch step sisters plan a funeral in 3 days. All while grieving, mourning, crying and the inevitable......asking WHY? HOW?
I saw people come together in love and remembrance. I saw people show their true colors, both bright.....and dark. I've been let down by those who should have helped me, and help those who needed our assistance. As I'm sure, I let someone down during all this, while I mourned also. I've learned so much this past week though. So much, that I am wiser and more prepared for this "event" when it happens again. And it will happen again, this I am positive.
Life is short. But life can be joyous while we are here. So do not mourn those we have lost, but rejoice in the knowledge that we got to love them while they were here. And that one day, we will love them again in Gods great kingdom of Heaven!
Right now, go tell everyone you know, you love them. Even if you are mad at them, even if you haven't spoken to them in years. TODAY is the day to "bury the hatchet". Tomorrow isn't guaranteed.......
