You have been warned...

Well after a good day, it has turned into a weird night. Apparently with dementia patients there is something called Sundowning. This happens usually when the sun goes down, and the patient becomes more agitated and confused. Around 4 pm tonight, daddy left me and Sunny came to town. Daddy couldn't focus on what he wanted to say, or do.

We tried to take a picture together and that was almost a disaster. I had to tell him to smile and stand still. Its like he forgot how to pose for one. But its ok, I got a great picture of us that I cant wait to put up!

Now he has been given his medication. Its supposed to help him sleep, but all it has done is make him wander the house. He is currently in the kitchen eating girl scout cookies. And enjoying them quite a bit I must say. SPoke too soon. He just grabbed said cookies and headed back to his hobby room to enjoy his stash of cookies.

Though it is heartbreaking to watch, I am glad I am here to see him. Every once in a while, when he has come back from Sundown town, he hugs me and tells me thank you. "Thank you for being here for me" he says. How can I answer that any other way then by saying "You were there for me from the second I was conceived, how could I not be here for you?"

Tomorrow is a new day. Tomorrow is another chance at a great day....I have faith that the Lord will grant me that much. If not, he will grant me yet another day with my daddy and sunny.....
