I am a mother. A mother to a GIRL. I also have two step daughters, who I relate to quite well. I also have a step son, who I can honestly say....makes no sense at all to me. I don't understand their fascination with video games, bugs, or causing horrible boldily harm on each other. I also have a friends son, James, who I have helped raise since his conception. Actually, if it weren't for me driving the car that fateful night, striking and killing the bunny rabbit on Chicken Road, I do believe he wouldn't be here today. Anyways, on with the story....
Rick found himself on the night shift tonight, which means I am to be left alone all night with two 10 year old boys. I do not know how to entertain them. They could care less how to apply a pore tightening mask or paint toenails in a perfect french manicure. They think braiding hair is for sissy's and that talking about which outfits look best and flatter us most is lame.
Whats a gal to do? Well, I gave them some pillows and let them run wild. Here's some video of the main event in my living room....
Yes, I see the $1000 TV within close proximity to the sumo fighting. But, they were leaving me alone, and laughing. Oh did I mention its 10 pm at night and they are acting like they are on a sugar high? Yeah, I guess that didn't help either.
I'm thankful I am a girl, and that I have a girl. I am also thankful they eventually grow out of this phase (or at least learn how to hide it from us females) as they get older and get into dating.... Otherwise, I fear the race would die off cause the boys would be too busy trying to figure out how to injure the other with some new extreme playtime fun.....
Sucky thing is, I have to entertain them again tomorrow night and Im at a loss already. Maybe I can pick up some silly string and eggs and let them loose on the next neighborhood down.....That might entertain them for a spell.....
