Today being Sunday, I am usually in church. But this particular day, I decided to skip church, pray God would understand, and head South!

Today was the last day of the annual Shrimp & Grits Festival in Jekyll Island, Georgia...Oh the food was devine! And the day was as beautiful as any day in Georgia could ever be! Wasn't too hot, but wasn't chilly either. Just enough clouds to keep the sun out of your eyes.
We started off looking for the Honorary Dish o' the day! Rick and myself both enjoyed a bowl of Shirmp & Grits topped off with some cool lemonaide. Haylee however, decided to skip this course. It's a shame that she did too! It had the perfect amount of spice and sausage in it, and Im hoping I got the recipe in the book I snagged while we were there!
We headed off in search of interesting things to look at and we found plenty! Along with all the arts and crafts booths, there were other food booths to partake of if one decided shrimp wasn't what their tastebuds were after. We stopped at a litle booth claiming to be selling Alligator Tail! So of course, being the brave family that we are, we got one. Alligator has, to me, the consitantcy of Turkey, but the flavor more along the lines of chicken. We even got Haylee to enjoy a bote or two of it!

After some more walking, and looking at the most beautiful Beachy artwork Ive ever seen, Haylee saw an oyster shell necklave that she just had to have! Its rather beautiful and I know she'd love to show it to anyone who asks! We moved on to a booth of homemade deserts! Rick picked out a little personal peacan pie and I picked out an Orange flavored cake. I can't wait to eat it!
As the day wore on, our toes grew tired and our eye lids grew heavy. So we decided to head in the direction of the car when Haylee spotted the Henna Tattoo station. She picked out a cute heart shaped tattoo and had them place it on her ankle. I have to say its pretty, but the thought of my abby loving tattoos so much, scares me! Yeah Yeah Yeah, Im covered in them, but that doesnt mean I want my baby having them!

All in all, our Sunday was spent outdoors, in the fresh Georgia air, on a perfect early fall day! Now its time to curl up with a good book on the couch, and maybe take a cat nap before bed.....Oh and time to much on that Orange Desert waiting for me!
